followed by Guild Challenge Reveal

It’s that time of year again when we celebrate another successful term with good food and great friends.  Please bring a favourite food item (hot dish, salad, veggies, dessert) to share.  REMEMBER NO NUTS OF ANY KIND (Museum imposed rule).  Coffee, tea and juice will be provided.  Don’t forget your own plate, cutlery and mug/glass.

Guild Challenge 2017Guild Challenge

To celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday, Guild members chose a painting or photo that represented Canada to them and created a handwoven object based on it. We now get to see the big reveal! For those participating, remember to bring along your inspiration and a short paragraph explaining your choice.

What's New?

Kay Faulkner Workshop a Great Success

This 2-day workshop, entitled East Meets West - A Sampler, had us examining traditional textiles produced on backstrap looms, and then learning the techniques which Kay has developed for producing those same effects on a shaft loom.

The workshop was so popular that we ran it twice on two consecutive weekends in August. Thank you to Kay for a wonderful and inspiring workshop and to Jette's for her generosity in sharing her good friend during a short one week visit to Canada. (Some photos from the workshop will follow)

LibraryThing has come to Huronia Handweavers

Our book list has not disappeared - it has just moved! Thanks to the hard work of Carolyn Houlden and Marilyn Begley, the whole list has been transferred into LibraryThing at http://www.librarything.com/catalog/hhlibrary This program makes additions and deletions easy and fast, and allows you to search titles and find more information about the books by tying in to other data bases.
